The Perfect Date for National Fishing Week

National Fishing and Boating Week take place next week and I thought you might want to plan a date night to celebrate! This post contains everything that you need to know to plan your fishing date(s) or getaway that first full week of June.

Location: A pond near you - see list below
Cost: Varies based on fishing license, gear needed, etc.

If I were you, I would go fishing on Saturday, June 11th because it is free fishing day in Utah! This means that you can fish on public bodies of water without a fishing license. The cost of your date will go down if you don't need a fishing license.

To fish on any other day of the year, you will need to get a license first. You can purchase your fishing license online. Once you've picked up your license, grab any gear that you need. If you don't own gear, see if anyone in your family or friend group is willing to let you borrow theirs, or go out and invest in some of your own. If you're considering turning fishing into a hobby, even if you only go a few times a year, it might be worth investing in all of the right equipment for yourself.

Now that you're already to go fishing, head to a pond near you. Below is a list of the bodies of water in Davis County where you can go fishing. If there are any missing from the list, feel free to e-mail us and let us know! Click on the links below to find out more about each fishing location (ie directions, size, hours, fish available, and restrictions specific to that body of water).
