A raw and real Tennessee Williams masterpiece, A Streetcar Named Desire observes Stella and Stanley navigating through the passions and problems of a young married couple living in the French Quarter of New Orleans during the 1940s. Stella’s troubled sister, Blanche, comes to stay causing tensions to build as Blanche and Stanley compete for Stella’s attention. The discovery of Blanche’s difficult and unstable past increases the tension, which provokes volatility in Stanley’s nature. This compelling look into the vices we use to mask our delusions is both riveting and unnerving, while we witness Blanche’s tragic spiral into self-delusion and, in the end, madness.
