September is Family Mealtime Month, and to celebrate, I wanted to share a few of our favorite places to go eat as a family! I also shared a few tips for making family dinner out less chaotic and more enjoyable for everyone involved!
When the kids head back to school, lunch dates became a regular part of our relationship. I’ve always loved a good lunch date, and I never realize how much I miss them until they’re back in our regular date night routine! Every couple should be enjoying a mid-week lunch date, at least once a month, in my personal opinion.
One of the best days of the year happens the first Friday in June every single year. It's National Donut Day!!! If you’re planning on celebrating Donut Day this year, here are the best places to grab a delicious treat in Davis County.
Get out and enjoy your favorite ice cream classics and try a few new places as well. Add ice cream to your next date night, or escape for a short date when you have a minute. You can never go wrong when you add ice cream to your planned activities!
There is nothing I love more than eating outside, especially as the weather starts to cool down after summer, or on a cool summer evening. I’ve had the opportunity to eat outside a handful of times recently and it has made my heart so happy. There are a lot of patios open during the warmer months in Davis County. Whether you’re looking for a special night out or something more casual, there’s a place for you to go!
Twigs is everything you could want in a date night location, and one of my favorite restaurants overall. Whether you’re looking for a casual night out together, or something more special and maybe even celebratory, Twigs is a great place to go!
I love a good date night out for lunch or dinner or even dessert. But nothing makes my heart happier than a good brunch date! There are so many great places in Davis County to grab a good breakfast or brunch date. Make brunch dates a regular occurrence in your routine! Going out earlier in the day means fewer people, you can enjoy the sunny weather, and you’ll have more energy to have fun together and talk earlier in the day.
By attending food truck round-ups, you are supporting local businesses. If you have a hard time deciding where to eat for date night, you won't have to choose. Each of you can order food from different trucks, or you can grab something from each of the trucks at the event and share the food, trying a few bites of everything there is to offer. Here's a list of food truck events that can be found in the area on a regular basis.
After years of research and taste testing, I’m excited to have this post that I put together in 2020 updated with a lot of our gluten-free favorites for date night! We will continue to update the post with more restaurants as we try them out or as they open the area. Bookmark this post or pin it for quick reference when you’re planning a date night involving someone who eats gluten-free.
This guide to restaurants for date night focuses on the Layton area including Layton, Clearfield, and Syracuse. You’ll find a variety of types of food from pizza to classic American food to unique international cuisine.
This guide of restaurants for date night focuses on the Farmington area including Farmington, Kaysville and Fruit Heights. You’ll find a variety of types of food from pizza to sandwiches to international cuisine. This list doesn’t have as many options as the other two in the series, but there are some really great date night restaurants included!
I often see people asking for recommendations of where to eat on a date night, across various social media channels and groups. This guide of restaurants for date night focuses on the Bountiful area including Bountiful, Woods Cross, North Salt Lake and Centerville. You’ll find a variety of types of food from pizza to sandwiches to international cuisine.
When I updated the winter date night ideas post last year, I added axe throwing and going to eat good barbecue after to the list. As soon as I thought of the idea, I knew we needed to do it, so I’ve got it planned for one of our dates this fall and knew I needed to share it with all of you so you could do it too!
I’m always up for a good burger, fries, and shake! This post has been in my brain for a while and I’m excited to have it published for you all to enjoy! You might be surprised by one or two of the locations that I put on this list. There are a lot of places you can go for a burger, but these places are the best of the best and my top pick if I’m craving one for date night.
International Sushi Day is this coming Thursday June 18th and I wanted to give you enough notice that you could celebrate with a date night over the weekend if you want. Like most random holidays, there is a real purpose behind. The purpose of this holiday is to raise awareness about the truths and fiction surrounding sushi.
Authentic Italian food, live music, lots of natural light, and a brunch menu all combine to make my new happy place! I loved Sicilia Mia at Station Park after my first visit a few months ago. Then they announced their updated daily lunch menu and weekend brunch menu and I couldn’t wait to go back. After a weekend Italian brunch date with one of my good friends, I’m all in! The food, the atmosphere, everything for a perfect date night or day date.
The Utah Taste Off team has put together a kit with some of Utah’s favorite goodies, all ready for you to enjoy during a date night at home! Each of the food items in this kit won a previous taste off this year!
Whether you’re planning on taking the mom(s) in your life out for a one-on-one date or going out as a family, there are a lot of great places to eat in the area. She’ll love any of the options on this list, I promise!
The classic date night often includes a meal and an activity. Something like dinner and a movie or lunch and bowling. You might not always have the time needed to enjoy those specific activities on your date nights, and you don’t need to. Going out for dessert or a quick snack can be just as fun, and can fill any amount of time you have to spend together.
A month or two ago, I came across a company on social media that was posting videos of hot cocoa bombs. I love hot chocolate, and the bombs looked so fun, I immediately wanted some of my own. So I was really excited when a local bakery, that I follow on Instagram, posted that they were making hot cocoa bombs and would be selling them soon!
Every time we drive past Orlando's on Main Street in Kaysville, one of us says something about how we need to eat there. It look us way too long to follow through on that plan, but we finally tried them out a couple of years ago and we’ve been going back often ever since!
In our house, we consider Joy Luck to have the best Chinese food in Davis County. When we lived in Bountiful, we ate there on a regular basis. If we weren't there in the restaurant, we were at home enjoying takeout at least once every couple of months. Now that we live in Farmington, we don't eat there as often, mostly because by the time we'd get our takeout order home, it would be cold. (We're still looking for a comparable restaurant up north and if you have any suggestions, we're open to trying them out.) But if we're going on a date and are craving Chinese food, you'll often find us at Joy Luck.
