If you’re less than a fan of winter like I am, I've come up with fun ideas for date nights and family activities that we can enjoy during the cold summer months, and I wanted to share a few of them with all of you!

A tradition that we started the first year of our marriage was to drive around town sometime the week before chocolate, our favorite hot chocolate in hand, enjoying all of the Christmas light displays. Each year I find out about more Christmas light displays in the area and add them to my list of places to visit. I hope this list of local light displays helps you plan an epic family activity or date night this holiday season!

One of my bucket list date nights for this year was to head north to Ogden for a night at Wiseguys. As soon as I hit ‘publish’ on that bucket list blog post, I saw that one of our favorite comedians, Alex Velluto, was going to be at Wiseguys within the month. We’d missed seeing him in December due to family events so I knew this had to be our date night out for January. Wiseguys and Warrens Craft Burger went on our calendar for date night and we enjoyed our date this past weekend!

Freezer meal prep isn’t my normal date night idea, but it’s one you won’t regret doing if you plan in! Work as a team, make it fun, and use those meals to save time and energy for yourselves in the future!

This past weekend we went on our monthly family date, and it was a big one! Jurassic Quest was in town, so we went for a bit of a drive, to take a drive through the dinosaur museum! The kids loved it and were asking to do it again the minute it was over. If you have the chance to go to the Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru in Utah, do it! It’s worth the trip for the entertainment and education.

I’ve watched friends in other areas of the U.S. sharing stories and Instagram posts of this fun interactive dinosaur drive thru experience. I kept hoping it would come to our area so we could take our kids on a fun family date, and my wildest dreams came true!

Whether you want to adventure for the day or are looking for a fun overnight escape, Midway is one of our favorite places to hang out any time of year, but especially during the winter. Don’t let the inversion get you down, head up the canyon for some sunshine and cleaner air.

If you've never given The Anniversary Inn a try, you really should. I know some people are hesitant because they worry the rooms will be cheesy, but they are far from it. Each one is classy and well put together, down to the details in the knick knacks. You can also take a tour of the properties and some of the different rooms before you book a stay so you know exactly what you’re going into and which rooms fit your personalities best.

As a couple, we love watching the performing arts for date night! We also love to volunteer. That’s when we came up with the idea to put them together!

Salt Lake eBikes is the perfect place to enjoy a date this summer or even into the fall months. We suggest taking the bikes out for a ride and requesting a tour. It's a fun and active date night activity, you'll learn a lot and have the opportunity to see different parts of the area. You could also ride your ebikes to your dinner destination for the evening.
