I often see people asking for recommendations of where to eat on a date night, across various social media channels and groups. What qualifies as a good place to eat for date night varies from couple to couple. It might even vary from date night to date night for a single couple. One night you might feel like a good drive-thru burger and another night you’ll be looking for the highest quality burger in the area.
I’ve put together three Davis County date night dining guides based on area. This guide of restaurants for date night focuses on the Layton area including Layton, Clearfield, and Syracuse. You’ll find a variety of types of food from pizza to classic American food to unique international cuisine. Let us know if there are any places on the list that you love to frequent for date night or if there are any you think we should add! I hope this list gives you some new places to add to your list to visit for date night in the coming year.
The Best Restaurants for Date Night in the Layton Area
Cafe Sabor
This Mexican restaurant is a Utah favorite and is located on Main Street, just off the Layton Parkway exit. Their food is delicious and they even have some chocolates and favorite treats from Logan you can purchase
Cup Bop/Ramen 930
Cup Bop has teamed up with a Ramen to create a great collaborative restaurant. I love this idea because you can pick one place to eat, and get a variety of types of food. Order the one thing you want, or order something from each restaurant and share.
Royal Jade
I’ve never eaten at this Chines restaurant, but I’ve heard it’s one of the best in the area. If you love Chinese, check it out!
Haru Ramen
Ramen is really popular in the Layton area, maybe we need some more in South Davis County. If you like ramen, head north and check out this highly recommended restaurant!
Roosters Brewing Company // The Coop
Sit down for a full meal at Roosters or head next door to The Coop by Roosters for lighter eats and drinks. Regardless of what you’re going for, this is a great place to go for a date.
Red Robin
This is a frequent date night location for us, mostly because of their gluten-free menu and options. They have good burgers and wraps and salads and it’s a classic place for American food.
The Bird
If you’re willing to travel west, almost to Antelope Island, you can hit up a delicious, locally owned restaurant that serves great chicken and sides! I dream of the cornpones and raspberry butter, but all of the food is good!
Hug-Hes Cafe
I’ve never been to the location that’s out by The Bird. But, I really enjoy the Centerville location, and because this is the original, it’s bound to be good! Their burgers are huge and highly underrated. But you also can’t go wrong with any other sandwich on their menu or any of their salads.
Lucky Slice Pizza
This is a pizza joint that I’m surprised I haven’t tried yet! We definitely need to! They receive good reviews from people I follow on social media who have tried them and their unique specialty pizzas intrigue me!
The Pizza Factory
You’ll find The Pizza Factory down Antelope Drive and everything there is delicious. My favorite thing to order is a parmesan bread twist with ranch for dipping and the Bowtie Chicken Caesar Salad. Pizza, salad, and desserts make this a great place for a delicious date.
Sill’s Cafe
This restaurant is a Davis County staple, and their scones alone are worth the visit. Be prepared to wait a bit, because every time we’ve been, it’s been busy. It’s definitely worth the wait for some delicious brunch food though.
Black Bear Diner
If you’re looking for some delicious comfort food, this is the place to go! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, their menus are filled with delicious food and there’s something for everyone. I’ve heard nothing but good from those who have been here.
HuHot Mongolian Grill
Think Tepanyaki style cooking when you think of this restaurant. It has been recommended to us time and time again, especially as one that is friendly for gluten-free eaters. It’s also on our list to try in the coming year.
Little Taste of Britain
If you like British food, you’ll love this little restaurant. I have friends who have been “across the pond” who really love coming here to eat and feel like it’s a piece of one of their favorite destinations without all of the travel.
Taste of India
A great place for Indian food in the Layton area. If anyone has recommendations for what to get when going for Indian food, we’d love suggestions, since we’ve never been!
Weller’s Bistro
This restaurant features German food, and a unique menu. My husband is half German, so I’m hoping this is a restaurant that we’re able to try out soon!
If you try one of these restaurants for date night, or if there’s one on the list that you already frequent for date night, let us know!
