When the kids head back to school, lunch dates became a regular part of our relationship. I’ve always loved a good lunch date, and I never realize how much I miss them until they’re back in our regular date night routine! Every couple should be enjoying a mid-week lunch date, at least once a month, in my personal opinion.
Why Lunch Dates are the Best Dates
Lunch dates often cost less than dinner at restaurants with lunch specials on the menu. You might have more energy to give on a lunch date in the middle of the week than you might in the evening on the weekend. Depending on the length of your lunch break, lunch dates are most often 30-60 minutes long which is a great amount of time to connect and enjoy your time together. And when your kids are in school during the day, lunch dates cost less since you don’t need to pay or arrange for childcare.
There are a lot of different ways to enjoy a lunch date! If one or both of you work from home, meet in the kitchen for lunch, take your food outside for a little fresh air, or take a break from the house and go out for takeout or eat in a restaurant. If one or both of you work in the office, meet back at home for lunch, find a park to enjoy a homemade picnic or takeout, or meet at a restaurant in the middle for some delicious food.
If you’re looking for a place to grab takeout or go out to eat, I’ve listed some great lunch date locations below. While there are lots of places to stop in for lunch throughout Davis County, these are what I would consider the very best!
The Best Places for a Lunch Date in Davis County
Lunch Places in South Davis County
Joy Luck
566 W 1350 S, Woods Cross
This is one of our most frequented lunch date spots and my husband often grabs lunch here on his own as well. We love that for less than $10 you can enjoy soup or salad, an entree, and an egg roll with fried rice. It’s a good amount of delicious and quality food for a decent price. My husband’s favorite thing to order is the Mango Chicken and I almost always go for classic Orange Chicken.

Cubby’s
570 W 500 S, Bountiful
This is one of our frequent lunch date locations. I love their sandwiches, burgers, salads, and fries. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I most often order the Cock-a-Doodle-Doo Sandwich or the Lemon Chicken Salad and my husband loves the Tri-Tip Steak Salad. We always share an order of their sweet potato fries, but the rosemary fries are also delicious.
Smoked Taco
245 W 500 S, Bountiful
The menu here is great for lunch! Each taco is filling and under $5, but you can order two or a side or even dessert if you need more. The combination of flavors in each taco is unique and so delicious. We’ve added this to our regular lunch date rotation and look forward to meeting here for good food and conversation.
Annie’s Cafe
74 W 500 S, Bountiful
Crepes, sandwiches, salads, and soups are on the menu at Annie’s. They have lunch specials for a great price and the food is always delicious. If I were to make a recommendation, I would say you can never go wrong with one of their delicious crepes.
Plates and Palates
390 North 500 West, Bountiful
If you haven’t visited this neighborhood cafe, you are missing out! Their pasta and green salads are unique and delicious and complement the panini sandwiches on their menu perfectly. The Lemon Tarragon Pasta Salad is the most popular, I would say, but everything they serve is delicious and makes a great lunch!
Best Places for Lunch at Station Park
P.F. Chang’s
905 W W Promontory, Farmington (south west corner of Station Park’s Fountain Square)
The lunch menu offers your favorite menu items in a lunch bowl that includes white rice, brown rice, or fried rice. You can add a favorite side for just a few dollars more. I suggest ordering your bowl to go and taking it to a seat near the fountains for a great lunch date atmosphere and some good people watching as well. I usually order their Honey Chicken or Orange Chicken. My husband loves Beef with Broccoli or Mongolian Beef. I’m also a huge fan of their fried rice with vegetables or chicken and can never leave without ordering a vegetable spring roll.
Blaze Pizza
260 N University Ave, Farmington
One thing that makes Blaze a good spot for lunch is that you can order half a pizza with a side salad included. It’s the perfect combination for lunch! The last time I went I ordered my pizza with red sauce, mozzarella cheese, chicken, red onions, roasted garlic, and spinach. It was so yummy I wished I’d ordered an entire pizza instead of half pizza with the Caesar salad, but the Caesar salad was delicious as well.
Dali Crepes
118 N West Promontory, Farmington (on the west side of the fountains)
A lunch date at the newest crepe shop in Davis County means you can order from the full menu; seasonal, breakfast, savory, and sweet. Order two or three different crepes and share for a fun sampler of your own, or pick the one that appeals to you most and enjoy it all yourself. The Good Morning crepe is going to be my first order, based on the menu I found online.
The Best Lunch Spots in North Davis County
The Pizza Factory
725 W 1700 S, Syracuse
I never regret taking myself out for a lunch date here. They have a great deal on lunch specials and the food is delicious. Don’t miss out on the bread twists when you’re there! My go-to order is the Bowtie Chicken Caesar Salad and a bread twist with ranch to dip it in. It’s a solid meal and cheaper during lunch, plus I always have leftovers of my salad to enjoy later.
The Crepery
1863 W 700 S Suite 2, Syracuse
The atmosphere here is perfect for a fun mid-day date and the menu is delicious. The crepe names are as unique as their fillings and both delicious and high quality. Split a savory and a sweet crepe for a great meal.
Weller’s Bistro
197 North Main Street, Layton
You’ll find German-American Cuisine at this restaurant and their related food truck. They share weekly specials and lunch features as well as weekend brunch specials over on their social media pages. I’ve heard nothing but good about all of their food. The restaurant itself is limited in space, but that space is well lit and the atmosphere is perfect for a date.
Great Places to Grab Lunch Across Davis County
Nielsen’s Frozen Custard
Bountiful: 570 W 2600 S, Bountiful
Layton: 378 N Main St STE 2, Layton
They’re known for their frozen custard and treats but don’t sleep on the food menu! The Layton location only serves the sandwiches and burgers until 5 pm each day, and as far as I can tell the Bountiful location serves food from open to close. I’m a huge fan of the grinder sandwiches, but the burgers are good as well and you can’t go wrong with the fries and onion rings, just don’t forget the fry sauce!
Wingers
Bountiful: 255 N 500 W, Bountiful
Clearfield: 743 N Main Street, Clearfield
Wingers has a great lunch menu that includes an entree, side, and drink. We frequent the Bountiful location for our lunch dates. My husband orders a burger with the fries (they’re gluten free friendly), and I almost always go for the Sticky Finger Wrap, but lately I’ve been loving the Sticky Finger Quesadilla as well. My biggest tip is to ask for a side of Creamy Amazing Sauce to dip your popcorn in; trust me!
Hug-Hes Cafe
Centerville: 330 N Marketplace Dr, Centerville
Layton (HUGS): 701 Main Street, Layton
Syracuse: 2432 W 1700 S Ste. B6, Syracuse
It doesn’t matter what you order at Hug-Hes, you’re always going to win! Their salads are loaded with toppings, the sandwiches are stuffed with filling, and their burgers deserve more recognition for their greatness. Every single appetizer is a winner, but the Beer Bread with Raspberry Butter is enough to bring you back time and time again. We frequent the Centerville location and love the atmosphere and all of the staff.
Z Brother’s Pizza
Centerville: 1097 South Main Street, Centerville
North Salt Lake: 460 North Redwood Road, North Salt Lake
Layton: 260 South Fort Lane #103, Layton
You can build your own lunch combo starting with a large slice of pizza, and adding a garden salad and/or breadsticks. Each lunch combo comes with a drink. Every day Z Brother’s serves five classic flavors along with their flavor of the day. My husband loves the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza and I generally go with classic Ham and Pineapple. You could also order a full pizza to go and take it to a nearby park for a lunch date picnic!
Lunch dates are a monthly occurrence in our relationship through the school year and I’m hoping to maintain that habit through the summer as well. If you have kids at home during the lunch hour, you can meet at a park and let them play while the two of you eat. This works well for the summer or any school breaks when you’re wanting to make lunch dates happen but it doesn’t feel as convenient.
Tell me where you love to go for lunch dates and what you order!
