Authentic Italian food, live music, lots of natural light, and a brunch menu all combine to make my new happy place! I loved Sicilia Mia at Station Park after my first visit a few months ago. Then they announced their updated daily lunch menu and weekend brunch menu and I couldn’t wait to go back. After a weekend Italian brunch date with one of my good friends, I’m all in! The food, the atmosphere, everything for a perfect date night or day date.
Where: Silicia Mia at Station Park (southeast side of Fountain Square at Farmington Station Park, just south of the movie theater)
Cost: $$$, it’s not going to take your week’s grocery budget, but it’s also not cheap. The quality of the food matches the cost and I don’t think twice about paying for that authentic Italian goodness.
The atmosphere at Sicilia Mia in Station Park
If you ever went to Settebello Pizzeria when they occupied the space that is now Sicilia Mia, you have a good idea of what it looks like. Windows on almost all sides of the building, neutral but stunning design and decor, and takes you to Italy when you walk through the door. I love the natural lighting in the restaurant all throughout the day and the view of the fountains and lighting around the square in the evening. There is plenty of seating but tables are placed far enough apart that you aren’t distracted by what’s going on at the tables around you unless the flaming cheese wheel comes out! I know that Settebello had a bit of outdoor seating, but I don’t know if Sicilia Mia takes advantage of this during the warmer months.
The food at Sicilia Mia in Station Park
I dreamed about my first visit to Sicilia Mia, and the food I ate, for weeks afterward. The Carbonara was so amazing, any time anyone would mention it in a social media group, I wanted to head straight to the restaurant. Our table of friends ordered a variety of things and tasted a bite from a few other plates. I didn’t taste a single thing that wasn’t absolutely delicious. My second visit was no different. The friend I went with agreed to order a few things and split them between the two of us so we could enjoy it all. Everything tasted fresh and authentic and I would eat everything over again, multiple times.
What to order at Sicilia Mia
I will forever and always go to Sicilia Mia for lunch on a weekday or brunch on the weekends. The menu is great and the prices are a little less than they are at dinner time. But I guess I should never say never because there are some things on the dinner menu that sound amazing and aren’t offered earlier in the day. If I’m being honest, the worst part about eating at Sicilia Mia is picking just one thing to eat! You can see the menu below and decide for yourself, but there was at least one thing from each section that I really wanted to order.
The one thing that I would tell every person to order when visiting Sicilia Mia at Station Park, it would be the Signature Carbonara! It was the dish I ordered on my first visit and it was one of the most amazing things I have ever eaten. Like I said, I dreamed about it for weeks afterward. As much as I wanted to try other things on the menu, especially on the brunch side, the second time I visited, I couldn’t not order the Carbonara so I was glad my friend agreed to split our meal so we could enjoy it all. That Carbonara is rich and flavorful and although it doesn’t feel like a large portion, you won’t be able to eat it all on your own so I definitely suggest splitting it with someone and trying a few other things as well! Tip: You can order it with chicken or another protein added to the bacon that is already part of the dish.
There are multiple pizzas that I want to order on future visits, including the Carbonara Pizza on their new weekend brunch menu. I would be happy with a lunch of one of their salads and the bruschetta and all of the pasta dishes are mouthwatering from the descriptions.
If you’re looking for a restaurant that has the perfect atmosphere for date night, amazing food, and great service, Sicilia Mia is the perfect place for a date night, any time you’re wanting to go out! After your authentic Italian meal, sit by the fountains and enjoy the weather while you talk and maybe dance to a few of the songs.
