A couple of weekends ago, we headed Downtown for a double date with some of our friends. We were invited by Salt Lake eBikes to come and try out their electric bikes for date night. A bike ride isn't something that we've ever done together and riding bikes around Downtown Salt Lake was a little out of our comfort zone, but we decided to be adventurous and do something different together. I'm so glad that we decided to step outside the box and do something new because we had a lot of fun!

Explore Downtown Salt Lake on an Ebike
Riding an electric bike is the perfect activity for any person, whether you're a regular biker or not. An ebike makes the ride easier but still provides great exercise, improving cardio, strength and aerobic fitness. You can get up to 25 mph on the bike, which was really cool to experience, especially while driving downtown going the same speed as the cars around us.
We had the opportunity to explore Downtown Salt Lake City with one of the owners of Salt Lake eBikes heading up the group. When Matt offered to lead us on a tour, we eagerly accepted, because the four of us had previously planned to ride our bikes around Liberty Park for an hour. I would highly suggest requesting to be taken on a tour when you book your first ebike rental. Your experience will be so much better and you will fell more confident and ready to ride the next time after you do.
Our tour started out riding around Liberty Park to help us get the hang of riding the bikes and make sure that we felt completely comfortable before taking them out on the city roads. From their we headed south on 600 East and eventually headed west until we hit Jordan Parkway. Then we rode north on the parkway and through the International Peace Gardens. We ended our ride up 900 South and back around to the shop. It was the perfect ride for us ebike beginners and had some amazing views.
Driving around Salt Lake in a car, you miss out on some of the sites and cool things that are more accessible by foot or bike. I didn't realize how bike friendly downtown is and learned a lot about how to ride on city streets while being safe and respectful of the cars driving on the roads with you.
Salt Lake eBikes is the perfect place to enjoy a date this summer or even into the fall months. We suggest taking the bikes out for a ride and requesting a tour. It's a fun and active date night activity, you'll learn a lot and have the opportunity to see different parts of the area. You could also ride your ebikes to your dinner destination for the evening. Riding an ebike helps you avoid parking traffic and fees. Salt Lake eBikes provides you with a bike lock when you rent, so you won't have to worry about that aspect of leaving the bike while you grab a bite to eat or explore one of the areas you ride through on foot.
Whether you are like me and can't remember the last time you rode a bike or ride bikes daily, you will love Salt Lake eBikes. The owners are passionate and knowledgeable about the ebikes that they sell and rent out and the local biking community. They will educate you on how to be safe while you ride, the best routes to take, and the benefits of riding an ebike. I'm glad that we stepped outside the box and did something new to us for date night. It will go down in history as one of our most memorable ones.
Where will you ride your bikes?
