Romantic Valentine’s Date Ideas in Davis County
Ice Skating and Hot Chocolate
Some of my favorite movies feature an outdoor ice skating date (Serendipity, Elf), so although it’s a cold activity, I love the idea of ice skating outside for date night. Davis County is home to the Bountiful Ice Ribbon which is a great place for an outdoor date. Or you can head Downtown SLC to the Gallivan Center if that’s more your style. After your date, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or another warm beverage of your choosing.

Paint a Canvas or Pottery Together
Hands On Art 4 Everyone has a couple of side-by-side canvas painting classes coming up, perfect for a fun and romantic Valentine’s date. The week before the holiday, on February 7th, they’re hosting ‘Love Marks in Aspen Glow’ and on Valentine’s Day you can paint ‘Couples Umbrella Kiss’. Each class starts at 6:30 PM and includes 90 minutes of instruction and all of the materials you need to paint, for $25. Hands on Art is located just West of US-89, on Shepherd Lane in Farmington.
Get a Couple’s Massage
Relaxing together is one of the best ways to spend date night! One of my favorite spas in Davis County is Beyond Spa, located in Layton. They have great seasonal packages that include time relaxing together with drinks, snacks, and a foot soak followed by a soothing massage. Or you can book your massage for the Luxe Suite, where you’ll enjoy your couple’s massage next to the fireplace and have extra time after your massage to enjoy time in the tub and shower located in the suite. Click here to check out all of the options Beyond Spa has available, or visit your favorite spa for a massage together.

Fun & Active Valentine’s Date Ideas
Laugh at the Improvables
One of the best things you can do to together, or at least one of our favorite things to do together, is laugh! We have made stand up comedy or improv part of our date night routine for years and locally, The Improvables is the best place to go for an evening of laughter. The Improvables perform every Friday night at 9:00 PM in Bountiful and the Bountiful Davis Arts Center. Their shows are family friendly and affordable and always a lot of fun! Grab ice cream before your evening of laughter, from Blacksmith Ice Cream Co., a couple blocks south and across the street.

Enjoy Community Theater
Each of Davis County’s community theaters have a great show running through the month of February and would make a great date night activity whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s weekend, the week before, or even after. CenterPoint Legacy Theatre is running Noises Off, Hopebox Theatre is running Fiddler on the Roof, and On Pitch Performing Arts is running She Loves me. There are even a few matinee showings that weekend. Check out our Upcoming Events calendar for dates and times of each show.
Pizza and Arcade Games
Like bowling or mini golf, arcade games are a classic activity that can be a lot of fun for date night. Paired with pizza, this activity is sure to win as fun and low-key while still being a memory maker! We visited Louie’s Pizzeria and Main Street Arcade last month and loved the food and the fun. It’s a highly recommended date night activity from us, for the holiday or any other weekend you’re planning to go out.

The hike is one mile and will give you a great, unobstructed view of the sun setting. Dogs on leashes are welcome to join, and you could grab ice cream from Thurgood Creamery or a late dinner from Hug-Hes Cafe when you head off the island after your hike. Romantic Dinner Date
You can create a romantic dinner, lunch, or brunch date at home after the kids are in bed or even while they’re awake and watching a movie with a meal of their own in the other room. We had quite a few dimmed light dinners of our own, even before kids came along, with our favorite takeout and nobody around to bother us. Dress fancy, wear pajamas, or put on something extra special for the occasion.

Pizza & Game Night
Order pizza takeout, grab a take-and-bake, or make your pizza at home with all of your favorite toppings. Then pull out your favorite games for two and play while you eat pizza. You can play board games, card games, or even video games if you want. Add a fun spin by playing the “after dark” version of your favorite game, making rules like “winner loses a piece of clothing”, or something similar.

Just Dessert
You don’t need a lot of time, energy, or even resources to make a date night. I love using a sweet or savory treat as the center of a date night at home and chatting or cuddling while we enjoy it. Chips and salsa or guacamole, lava cakes for two from the grocery store, your favorite takeout dessert, or something you make together can be the perfect sweet date night in.

Music & Dancing Date
Put together a playlist of songs that remind you of your relationship, or are fun to dance together. Use a tutorial online to learn a new dance, then practice your skills with your new playlist. Or put all of your favorite slow songs on one playlist and sway the night away in your living room, kitchen, or bedroom.

Nerf Dart War
If you’re looking for a little fun and competitive date night, this is it! Claim areas of the house, divide a room in half and set barriers, or take your war outside. Each of you gets a dart gun and you can set the rules for how you play. This activity always makes me think of the movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Add a fun spin by enjoying a nice dinner together in fancier clothes, calling the war mid-meal, and then cuddling up to watch the movie together after your dinner and competition are over.

Turn on the camera of one of your phones, propped up somewhere, and talk candidly about your dating days, falling in love, etc. through the timeline of your relationship. This will be a fun keepsake for the two of you to look back on together and I guarantee your kids and grandkids will treasure it.
